Baltus Communication organized the Ibiza Press Presentation at Level Eleven in Amsterdam to promote the island of Ibiza by inviting Dutch tour operators, travel agents, and travel press. Although Ibiza is widely known as a party island, the goal was to show attendees that Ibiza offers more than just parties, drinking, and beaches.
The project was conceived to reshape Ibiza’s image in the Dutch market by showcasing its multifaceted appeal beyond nightlife. The ideation focused on creating an engaging experience that highlighted the island’s cultural, natural, and culinary diversity, aiming to inspire travel agents and press to promote a broader understanding of Ibiza as a rich and varied travel destination.
The event was held at Level Eleven in Amsterdam, which offers a 360-degree view of the city centre and is easily accessible due to its proximity to Amsterdam Central Station. This location also allowed for the serving of typical Spanish dishes during dinner to enhance the experience.
The strategy involved informing journalists about the diverse tourist attractions in Ibiza. By engaging in conversations with the press, we were able to connect with them and provide in-depth information about the destination. Ibiza boasts not only its party scene but also a wealth of cultural sites, beautiful nature, and excellent cuisine. A goodie bag with press information was given to attendees when they left.
The event also aimed to motivate Dutch travel agents to offer Ibiza as a destination.
The attending press, travel agents, and tour operators were very enthusiastic about the event. The presentation successfully demonstrated that there is much more to Ibiza than just the party scene, highlighting the island’s wide array of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and culinary offerings.
