Travel Pressentation media event in Utrecht, The Netherlands
While email, video conferencing and phone calls make up most of our communication nowadays, there’s nothing that beats personal contact. Face-to-face meetings is exactly the strength of Travel Pressentation where 35 players from the travel industry meet up for speed-date sessions with the Dutch travel media. Baltus Communications – TLN-member in The Netherlands – is one of the co-founders of this media event which started in 2000. This year the 16th edition of the successfull media event will take place on Friday 28 October, in the most central city of The Netherlands: Utrecht.
Any tourism business is fighting for its share in the industry, constantly adjusting strategies to the current media landscape and persuading the consumer to choose them. For a large share it is the media that influence the position of a destination, brand, service or product and its image. This is why media plays such an important role in the Marketing Mix. Travel Pressentation is the one-stop-shop where the industry can meet a great share of the most important (travel) media in The Netherlands and sit down for a personal chat. For the media it is a great opportunity to meet with different players without having to visit 1001 events. For you as a travel brand it is the way to; a). establish new relations, b). get your name out there and introduce what you have to offer, c). differentiate yourself from your competition and d). initiate possible collaborations with those media that are a perfect match to your destination/company message.
Even though The Netherlands may not be big in absolute numbers in terms of population and incoming tourists, what the Dutch are however, is a travel loving nation. Over 80% of the Dutch travel at least once per year, while a large share even goes on holidays 3+ times. For a population of 17 million, we can honestly say that 35 million holidays per annum is a convincing number. This makes this country a very interesting market to tap into.
Like society, the media landscape is undergoing rapid changes, resulting in a very diverse mix. Traditional newspapers and glossy magazines, special interest titles, trade publications, freelance journalists, web editors, bloggers, vloggers, influencers… you name it. At Travel Pressentation we invite media from all of these types but only select quality publishers which results in a great mix of 100-120 attendees that are curious to meet with players in the field.
