GEOCM was tasked with hosting the grand opening of House of Peru, known as “Casa Peru,” opened at Malnanumteo Park in Gangneung in February 2018 for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics season.
The project was conceived to enhance Peru’s global visibility by creating a distinctive promotion house at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, showcasing Peruvian culture and products. The ideation aimed to leverage the event’s international reach and social media influence to attract attention and drive engagement with Peru’s tourism offerings.
As a global initiative, Casa Peru was the first promotion house built abroad, setting a precedent for future locations in the United States and Russia. The house showcased traditional Peruvian textiles, handmade goods, superfoods, and a photography exhibition.
GEOCM created and published social media content about Casa Peru on the Peru Tourism Board’s Facebook page, Visit Peru, and the Commercial Office of Peru in Korea’s Facebook page, OCEX. The content went viral through collaborations with influential Facebook pages.
